The Exodus 1s is equipped with a 5.7-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage with a microSD card. It works with Android Oreo 8.1 and incorporates two 13 megapixel cameras, one in the front and the other back, as well as a battery of 3,000 mAh.

A blockchain node in a smartphone

This new smartphone features blockchain integrates a cryptographic portfolio as its eldest but goes even further. The Taiwanese manufacturer has integrated the functionality of complete Bitcoin node (or full node), to verify and relay all Bitcoin transactions in the world. HTC has admitted that the new option is still rather experimental, and advises to connect to Wi-Fi and connect the smartphone to the sector before launching the node, but it can also work while roaming.

To operate as a node, the smartphone requires the Bitcoin register which has reached a size of 260 GB. It will therefore add a microSD memory card of 400 GB to store the Bitcoin blockchain. Exodus 1s will be released first in Europe, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
